Frank Waseleski, 73, U.S. Army Veteran

He was born July 30, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Alfred and Mary Frances Waseleski.
Beloved husband of Carol Sniezyk for 8 � years. father to Frank Jr., Wendy (Troy) Tait, and Tina (Jay) Taylor; step-father to Patrick (Serina) Green; grandfather to Christian Robert Nichols, Christian Michael Waseleski, McKenzie Taylor, Dylan Tait, Jay Taylor, and Faith Tait; step-grandfather to Stephanie, Samantha and Savannah Green; and great (step)-great grandfather of four. Frank is also survived by his sisters Dorothy, Catherine and Arlene as well as by his brother Steven. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mary (nee Cinalt) Waseleski, sister Ann Louise, brothers Daniel, Richard and John; mother-in-law Loretta Sniezyk, and brother-in-law John Sniezyk.
He was a six-year veteran of the United States Army where he fulfilled duty assignments as a Sergeant attached to the 7th Infantry Battalion. Frank held an Expert Marksmen Medal for the M-16 Rifle and was also the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Amvets organizations.
Frank retired after forty-two years of service as a millwright in the finishing end of the rolling mill as U.S. Steel Corporation’s Lorain Works. He was an active member and representative of United Steelworkers’ Local 1104.
In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, additional interests included woodworking, tackling outdoor projects, and helping others learn new talents in many facets of trade work. His favorite past-time was cheering on his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers as well as golfing with family and friends.
Frank devoted many years to the Knights of St. John International, working his way up from a local member to serving as the Supreme President, a position that he would hold for a total of twelve years.
His family will receive friends in the Wasik Funeral Home 11470 13 Mile Road (West of Hoover) in Warren, Michigan on Wednesday, July 2nd, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited there at 7:00 p.m. He will lay instate Thursday, July 3rd, from 9:30 a.m. until a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Sweetest Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4440 Russell Street (at Canfield) in Detroit.
Additional visitation will be observed in Ohio on Monday July 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will take place there Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Edward Smith, Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church presiding.. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township where military honors will be conducted by Amvets Post # 32 of Elyria.
