Mark E. McElroy, 66, Avid Outdoorsman

He was born in Lorain on April 15, 1959 and graduated from Clearview High School with the Class of 1977; Mark formerly attended Grace Baptist Church.
For more than three decades he had been employed as a plugger in the # 4 Seamless Mill at United States Steel Corporation's Lorain Works. He was a longtime member of United Steelworkers Local 1104.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, and snow mobiling.
He was well known for his expertise in cooking and preparing wild game meals utilizing the bounty from his hunts. He found additional relaxation from making wine and spending time with his pet Beagles.
He is survived by his brother Jeff (Susan) McElroy residing in Penfield Township along with one niece, two nephews, and five great nieces and nephews. He also leaves his former classmate and longtime friend Michael (Deanne) Newman of Amherst and good neighbor Ron Jamerson.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Clinton McElroy in 1984 and by his mother Mabel E. McElroy (nee Muhlbach) in 2001.
Friends may call Tuesday June 17th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel at 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Pastor Tony Mannon of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
