Anthony Lee Coonrod Jr., 63, U.S. Air Force Veteran

He was born December 18, 1961, in Dade City, Florida to Velma Koche and Anthony Lee Coonrod, Sr. Tony proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years. After serving in the U.S. Air force, he transitioned into a career that would become his passion. He began as a Corrections Officer for the Lorain County Jail and rose through the ranks to become Sergeant, retiring in 2024.
Alongside a successful career, Tony loved spending time with his family, teaching them the importance of love and grace. He also enjoyed Smallville, Star Trek, traveling, spending time with friends and was a huge Michigan fan. Tony approached life with quiet strength and a generous spirit, and leaves a legacy of love, kindness and unforgettable memories.
Tony is preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Anthony Lee Coonrod III (Nikole McGhee- Coonrod), Jessica Brown (Bryan Brown), Lauren Riveras and Jason Coonrod (Devin Perry); grandchildren, Kylie Partin, Raelynn Brown, Melodee Brown, and Oakley Brown; great grandchildren, Koah Hammonds, Zealand Woolf, Kru Woolf. Mother, Velma Koche (Brian Koche). Siblings, Randy Coonrod and Phyllis Coonrod (Linda Hollon-Coonrod) and many other family and friends.
His family will receive friends at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 2 to 5 PM. His funeral service will be at 5 PM in the Funeral Home.
