Lisa was born March 24, 1948, in St. Louis, MO to Alvin E. Beck and Pauline L. (Jacob). Following her mother’s death, Lisa was raised by her father and grandparents, Ewald and Anna Marie Jacob in St. Louis. She participated in the St. Louis Lutheran Children’s Choir and Girl Scouts. Lisa went to live with her sister Barbara and her family in Greenwood, IN after her grandmother died in 1958. In Greenwood she had her first crush with Gene Waltz. He walked her home from school, sometimes let her ride with him on his bicycle. Gene also bought Lisa cherry cokes and floats at a little ice cream store. She heard through Barbara that Gene carried her picture with him when he joined the military and went to Vietnam. Lisa’s family moved to Grafton, OH in 1961. She attended Midview Junior High and High Schools, graduating in 1966. Lisa was an excellent student whose activities included chorus, Future Nurses and Future Homemaker Associations and theatre stage hand. Lisa continued playing the piano and organ and was active in the Trinity Lutheran Church. Lisa was awarded a scholarship to attend the Elyria Memorial Hospital School of Radiology. She had excellent grades in anatomy, physics and radiology practice, but did not like the lack of patient contact. Lisa had always considered nursing and enrolled at St. Joseph Hospital School of Licensed Practical Nursing. She loved it and graduated with high marks and board scores. She worked at St Joe’s and other hospitals in Marietta, OH, Parkersburg, WV and Alexandria and Woodbridge, VA through the 1970’s. Her favorite assignments were in labor and delivery although she told stories of sitting with dying medical patients as they transitioned this life. Later she returned to school to study medical office practice at Page Business School, Reston, VA. Following her graduation she worked in family practices in Northern Virginia through the mid-nineties.

Lisa was an adept seamstress and made many of the children’s clothes. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. Lisa’s interest in crafts lead her to cross stitch, paper arts for scrapbooking, greeting cards and decorations. She had an Etsy shop for several years named Create By Grace which she felt reflected her God-given talent. She enjoyed traveling and had visited 38 states and 8 foreign countries. One of her favorite trips was a Rhine River cruise. Lisa had favorite places in Shenandoah National Park, near Front Royal, VA where she lived for many years, that she never tired of visiting.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of almost 57 years, David N. Bosley (Manassas, VA). Surviving family include daughter, Rebeccah M. (Scott) Smith (Manassas, VA), grandsons Chase D. (Clara) great grandson Simon Smith (Chesapeake, VA) and Tanner S. Smith (Richmond, VA) Son Aaron D. She was predeceased by sisters Shirley (Rick) Endejon and Barbara Hilsabeck; brothers William Zimmerman (Mary Anne) and Robert (Laurie) Zimmerman.

Lisa was a hard worker and always believed that ‘Can’t never did anything’! Her favorite songs were ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’, and most anything by Johnny Mathis!
