Wayne J. Emerick, 71, Enjoyed Hunting and Fishing

He was born February 2, 1954 in Lorain to Clarence and Irma Emerick (nee Barricelli) and had resided in Lorain most of his life.
After graduating from Admiral King High School in 1972, Wayne attended Lorain County JVS receiving certificates in various maintenance fields and was employed as a maintenance man at several facilities. Later, Wayne received his Stationary Engineer license and worked as a Boiler Operator at Elyria Memorial Hospital, Parma General Hospital and Republic Steel in Lorain.
He was a member of St Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as cooking and traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Nancy Emerick (nee Terschak), brother Dale Emerick (Suzie), sisters: Sherry Kocak (Adam) and Joan Emerick and nephews: Jared Emerick and Adam & Joseph Kocak. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 11, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday May 12, 2025 at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St Mary Catholic Church, 8th St & Reid Ave, Lorain. The Rev Daniel Divis, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
