John P. Forgacs, 69, Army National Guard Veteran

Photo of John P. Forgacs John P. Forgacs, 69, of Camden Township, died suddenly at his home Tuesday January 14, 2025.

He was born May 1, 1955 in Lorain to Joseph & Frances Forgacs (nee Huhra) and had resided in Camden Township for over 34 years moving from Lorain.

John graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1972. He served with the Army National Guard.

John worked at Edwards Tree Service clearing land and driving a truck for nearly 35 years before retiring.

He enjoyed gardening, canning, railroading and model railroading. He was a member of St Patrick Church in Wellington.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Karen Forgacs (nee Boone), children Elizabeth Jackson (Cody Johnson) and Noah Forgacs (fiancé Emily Kruse), grandson Flynn Jackson, granddaughter Gemma Johnson, brothers Andrew Forgacs (Anne) and Joseph Forgacs and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Susan Forgacs.

The family will receive friends Sunday January 19, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday January 20, 2025 at 9:45 am at St Patrick Catholic Church, 512 Main St, Wellington. Father David Trask, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery in Camden Township.
