Kelly L. Jarrell Sr., 85, Enjoyed Gardening and Playing Blue Grass Music

He was born August 22, 1939 in Dana, Kentucky to Edward and Verlie Jarrell (nee Kidd) and had resided in Lorain most of his life. Kelly worked at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant retiring after 30 � years. Upon retiring, he moved to Wakeman.
Kelly began coaching his son’s and their youth baseball teams from Little League to Class E Hot Stove. In 1984, he lead his Lorain Chevalier Class E team to the state championship where they finished as runner-up. More than anything, he enjoyed the kids and being a positive influence in their lives.
Kelly enjoyed gardening and playing blue grass music on his guitar and mandolin.
He is survived by his sons: Kelly Jarrell Jr (Nancy) of Vermilion, Dwayne Jarrell of Vermilion and Kevin Jarrell (Tomi) of Elyria; grandchildren: Courtney, Kelly Olivia, Nichole & Nevaeh; great grandson Sylas, great granddaughter Destiny; brothers: Jim Jarrell (Barb) of Willard and Dennis Buddy Jarrell of Harold, Kentucky and sister Stella Schultz (Jerry) of Port Huron, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Nancy Jarrell (nee Spence) in 2015, his parents, daughter-in-law Umpawn Jarrell, grandson Aramys Jarrell and several brothers & sisters.
The family will receive friends Thursday December 26, 2024 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 719 Root Rd, Lorain. Additional visitation will be held Friday December 27, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am in the church. The Rev Tony Mannon, pastor, will preside. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
