Therese J. Kuzniar, 95, Enjoyed Polka Music and Playing Bingo

Photo of Therese J. Kuzniar Therese J. Kuzniar (nee Michael), 95, of Lorain, died peacefully Wednesday September 18, 2024 with her family by her side at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.

She was born May 8, 1929 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Therese graduated from Lorain High School. She worked as a waitress at Sutter’s Restaurant, in the dietary department at St Joseph Hospital and in the cafeteria at St Stanislaus Catholic School, all in Lorain.

She attended the former St Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and Altar and Rosary Society. She was a current parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain.

Therese enjoyed being with her family, polka music and playing bingo.

She is survived by her children: Cathy Szabo (Joe – deceased) of New Paris, Ohio, Bob Kuznar (Shari) of Avon, Patricia Kuznar of Avon Lake, Tom Kuzniar (Lisa – deceased) of North Ridgeville and Jim Kuznar (Tina) of Columbus; grandchildren: Becki Dorsey (Jody), Katie Root (Brock), Tom Kuzniar, Lauren Rice (Jeremy), Jimmy Kuznar and Nick Kuznar; step granddaughter Jessica Potter and great grandchildren Braden, Aubrey and Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Benny J. Kuznar in 2004 and her siblings Gene, Jerry, Larry Michael and Irene Wysocki.

The family will receive friends in Nativity BVM Catholic Church (1454 Lexington Avenue – Lorain) on Monday September 23, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. The Reverend Craig M. Hovanec, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain.
