Donald S. Chismar, 89, Avid Cleveland Sports Fan
Donald S. Chismar, age 89, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Avenue of Brooklyn.
He was born in Elyria and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1978.
Don worked as a supervisor for Kindt-Collins Manufacturing, retiring in 1998 after 42 years.
He was an active member at Puritas Lutheran Church in Cleveland where he sang in the choir and participated in many activities before becoming a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westlake.
He enjoyed golfing, coaching baseball and playing softball when he was younger, horseshoes, bowling, going dancing with his wife, playing cards and was an avid Cleveland sports fan.
Survivors include his sons, Don Jr. (Elaine) Chismar of Grafton, Douglas (Deb) Chismar of Parma, daughters, Diana Folmer of Brooklyn, Susan Trapnell of Tampa, Florida, Cathy (Bob) Walker of Port St. Lucie, Florida, 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Peg Chismar, daughter, Sandra Trapnell, son, David Chismar, daughter-in-law, Dana, grandson, Jason Trapnell, sisters, Betty Wilbond, Eileen Blanko, Jean Cowley, brothers, Jim Chismar, William Gunning and Raymond Chismar.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday August 24, 2024 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 28455 Center Ridge Rd., Westlake. Pastor Charlie Woodward will officiate.
Private burial will be at Ridgeville Cemetery.
