Katherine Freda Castro, 65, Loved Karaoke and Camping
Katherine Freda Castro 65, of Lorain, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain, following a sudden illness.
Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathy was born January 27, 1958, in Elyria. She was a beloved caregiver and a mother figure to all who knew her. Her love for karaoke and camping was well known.
Kathy is survived by her loving spouse, Marcelino Castro Sr; sons, Marcelino Castro Jr. (Rachel), Edwin Castro (Danielle); daughter, Catrina Castro (Jose); stepson, Adrian Castro; brothers, Gerald Sauer (Deborah) and Clarence Sauer; sisters Linda Worley (Ronald), Roberta Miller, Delores Dodson (Jack), and Christine Myers; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Catherine Sauer and her brothers Lawrence and David Sauer.
Traditional funeral services to honor Kathy's life will be at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, with visitation Friday, November 10, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm., then, her funeral service Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10 am. Deacon, Lou Maldonado of Sacred Heart Chaple, Lorain officiating. Her burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain
