Agnes L. Hemminger, 92, formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully at Rae Ann Westlake with her daughter by her side.Mrs. Hemminger, the daughter of John and Mary (nee Hawkins) Nagel, was born in Lorain on August 22, 1923 and graduated from Lorain High, Class of 1941A. An avid reader all of her life, she was known to go to the library, check out 5-6 books for three weeks, finish those books, go back a week-and-a-half later and check out 5 more. Mrs. Hemminger instilled her love of reading into her daughter when she bought her daughter the book "Heidi" and her daughter finished that book in 6 hours.
Mrs. Hemminger also loved to knit and made numerous afghans for family and friends.
When she moved in with her daughter in 2004, Mrs. Hemminger learned to love cats as well because her daughter had several rescues, and often referred to them as "the kids"!
Mrs. Hemminger is predeceased by her husband John in 1985; grandson JR Stricklin in 2006, brothers James and Charles and sister Frances.
She is survived by her daughter Claudia A. Hemminger, grandson Bryan P. (Tiffani M.) Stricklin, great-granddaughter, Mia and a son.
Services were private.
