Esther A. Wallace, 89, Enjoyed Sewing, Reading and Traveling

Esther was born June 26, 1927 to Eugene and Margaret (Freese) Wolf in Ingram, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh. She grew up and lived there until 1954 when she married William L. Wallace of Lorain, Ohio. They had met when Esther vacationed at Linwood Park, Vermilion, Ohio. After her marriage, she moved to Lorain and lived the rest of her life here, most recently with her daughter Leslie and her family.
She was a member of First Congregational Church of Lorain, where she served on various boards and committees. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, and in her younger days she enjoyed Girl Scouting, bowling, boating, fishing, and family vacations.
She is survived by a daughter Leslie Buga and a son Kenneth Wallace both of Lorain, 2 grandchildren, Jillian and Derek Buga, a sister Shirley Briggs of Hickory, PA, 2 nephews, Eugene (Patty) and Eric Briggs of Hickory, PA, a niece Tammy (Benjamin) of McKees Rocks, PA, and a great niece Lauren and nephew Benjamin Lander.
She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Margaret (Freese) Wolf, and her husband of 50 years William L. Wallace in 2004.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 PM to 5 PM at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11 AM in the Funeral Home, with Rev. Karen Farphing officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
