Patricia L. Golobich, 56, Devoted Much Time to Relay for Life

Photo of Patricia L. Golobich Patricia L. Golobich, age 56, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of Saturday September 17, 2016.

She was born in Lorain on March 20, 1960 and had been a life-long resident of the city; Patty was a 1978 graduate of Admiral King High School.

She was most recently employed as a production assistant for Sparton Medical Systems in Strongsville. Previously, she had been employed for more than twenty-five years by the Lorain Products Corporation.

Patty was a parishioner of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Lorain. For the past decade she devoted a good quantity of her free time to Relay for Life assisting with its luminaries program as well as helping with the coordination of its luncheon programs. She also was active with Next Step, a support group for amputees. The remainder of her free time was dedicated to supporting Cleveland’s three major professional sports teams.

She is survived by her sisters Diane Pollack (James) of Elyria, Gail Georgio (Paul) and Donna Golobich both of Lorain, Mary Jo Zigmund of Parkside, Pennsylvania, and Kathy Davis (Dave) of Tampa, Florida, and Debbie Golobich of Elyria, along with brothers Robert and Michael Golobich both of Lorain. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents Michael J. and Rose Marie (nee Jacovetti) Golobich, and by her brother William J. “Big Bill” Golobich.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be conducted there Friday at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Robert Glepko, pastor of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
