Agnes O. Darin, 90, Enjoyed Cooking and Baking for Family and Friends
Agnes O. Darin, (nee Kolesar), age 90, of Lorain, passed away on the evening of Saturday September 10, 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph following a brief illness.
Agnes was born in Lorain on December 26, 1925 and remained a life-long resident of the city. She attended Lorain High School.
Mrs. Darin was regarded as the consummate homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. In her free time she enjoyed playing bingo, playing the lottery, and all other forms of games of chance.
She leaves daughters Patricia A. Blazina of Elyria, Barbara J. Darin of Lorain, and Kathleen M. Arnette of Berea as well as her granddaughter and primary caregiver of thirty-two years Kimberly J. Blazina of Lorain. Additional grandchildren include David D. Arnette and Amanda M. Arnette both residing in Berea.
Agnes was preceded in death by her husband Vincent “Sonny” Darin.
Visitation will be Thursday September 15th from 5:30 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:30 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Reverend Christ Robinson will officiate. Burial of Agnes’ cremated remains will take place later in Calvary Cemetery.
