Agnes C. Janasko, 91, Enjoyed Spending Time with Grandchildren

She was born July 23, 1925 in Berea and had resided in Sheffield Lake for the past 25 years moving from Lorain.
Agnes graduated from Milan High School and Oberlin Business College where she earned an Associate Degree in Accounting.
For over 23 years, Agnes volunteered at Lorain Community Hospital; was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the hospital and was a member of the Lakeland Women’s Club where she held the office of treasurer for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and a past member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son James M. Janasko (Connie) of Amherst; grandchildren Michael J. Janasko of Oxford and Mark A. Janasko and Maria H. Janasko, both of Amherst; sister Patricia Zimmerman of Vermilion and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years M. James Janasko on February 22, 1989; parents Melvin and Rose Thayer (nee O’Mara); brothers Joseph and Paul Thayer and sister Rita Rhinemiller.
The family will receive friends Tuesday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Additional viewing time will be held Wednesday from 9:00 am until 9:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St Joseph Way, Amherst. The mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday at 10:00 am in the church with the Rev. Timothy O’Connor, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
