Ramon Luciano, 96, Wonderful and Dedicated Family Man

Photo of Ramon Luciano Ramon “Moncho” Luciano, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family, while under the care of New Life Hospice.

He was born on June 24, 1920 in Lares, Puerto Rico and moved to Lorain, in 1952 to work at Ford Motor Co., Brookpark.

Ramon was a faithful founding member of the House of Praise International Church. He enjoyed reading and memorizing scripture from his Bible. He was an avid gardener and a great domino player. Ramon was a wonderful and dedicated family man, who enjoyed making his children and grandchildren laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Sara (née Silva Ocasio) Luciano of Lorain, his children Lucy Luciano of Lares, Puerto Rico, Maria Davis, Willie Luciano, Awilda (Edwin) Morales, Nelly (Joe) Otero all of Lorain, and by his grandchildren: Jenny, Leslie, Jeremy, Eric, Sara, John, JoAnna, Brandon and Alyssa, and great-grandchildren Jocelyn and Zachary. He will be dearly missed.

Ramon was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Maria (Née Barbosa) Luciano and two brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, from 5 to 8 PM at House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055. His funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am also at the House of Praise International. Pastor Gilbert Silva will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
