Russel D. Sprague, 72, U.S. Navy Veteran
Russell D. Sprague, 72, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Sunday July 24, 2016 at his home.
He was born October 31, 1943 in Elyria and had resided in Lorain most of his life.
Russell graduated from Elyria High School and served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a Machinist at Duray Machine in Lorain before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping.
He is survived by his children Steve Sprague of Elyria and Cherie Torres of Lorain; grandchildren: David Scaggs, Matthew Sprague, Eric Torres and Ajaisha Worthy; sister Lois Lane (Leonard) of Tennessee and brothers Arnold Sprague (Diane) of Vermilion, Carl Sprague of Lorain and George Sprague (Mary Kay). He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Anna Sprague (nee Shaffer) and 3 siblings.
The family will receive friends Monday August 1st from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
