Iris Navarro Candelario, 58, Adored Her Work, Friends and Family

Photo of Iris Navarro Candelario Iris Navarro Candelario, 58, of Lorain, passed away following injuries sustained in a car accident on Saturday July 2, 2016.

She was born June 29, 1958 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. Iris graduated from Southview High School in 1977.

Iris worked as a Special Education Administrative Assistant at Elyria City Schools and previously at Lorain City Schools as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Iris was fond of traveling and adored her work, friends, and her family. She was beginning to learn a number of outdoor activities including paddle boarding and canoeing. She was developing a fondness for boating as well. Iris will be remembered for her sense of humor, love, and generosity.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter Alicia Candelario of Cleveland, son Carlos Candelario of Cumming, Georgia and her partner Ken Klein of Avon Lake. Her father Regino Navarro of Lorain; brothers José Navarro of Texas, Miguel Navarro, Hector (Carmen) Navarro and Gilberto (Diana) Navarro all of Lorain, Roberto (Sandy) Navarro and Regino (Gladys) Navarro, Jr. both of Kentucky; sisters Lucia (Tony) Morell and Carmen Ramos of Florida, Judith (Luis) Figueroa, Silvia (Richard) Williams and Angela Navarro all of Lorain, many nieces and nephews, the Klein family of Avon Lake and her dear friend Lizette Ayala Valdez.

Iris was preceded in death by her mother Natividad de Jesus in 2007, brother Nelson Navarro de Jesus earlier this year and her dear friend Maria Maldonado.

Her family will receive friends Thursday, July 7 from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Friday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, pastor will be celebrant. Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
