Jeanette A. Sebastian, 96, Loved Her Pets
Jeanette A. Sebastian (née Johnson), 96, of Avon, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Avon Oaks Caring Community, Gardens of French Creek Assisted Living, Avon following a brief illness.
She was born in Lorain on October 19, 1919. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in 1937. She resided in Lorain before moving to Avon in 1961.
Jeanette worked for Dr. Delbert Fischer, Lorain and Drs. Russell, Berkebile and Associates, Elyria. On September 21, 1968 she married Alex Sebastian of Lorain.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Avon; she was also a member of Erie Shores Humane Society, Elyria.
She loved her pets and also enjoyed reading the newspaper from "cover to cover" daily.
Jeanette will be missed by her brother Thomas (Maggie) of Rocky River, "sister" in law and care giver Evelyn Johnson of Lorain, nephews Jerry (Debbie) Johnson of Las Vegas, Dave Johnson of Willoughby Hills, "adopted" nephew and dear friend Rick Blatnik of Willoughby Hills, and other nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her step-daughter Nancy (Denis) Osborn of Findlay, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alex, her parents Thomas L. and Anna (née Herbert) Johnson, sister Rita Johnson, brother Kenneth Johnson and sister Clara Johnson.
Jeanette's funeral service and burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain was Saturday, June 18.
A mass in celebration of her memory will be Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00 PM in Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd, Avon.
