Anibal Cortes, 87, Enjoyed Working In His Yard & Garden

Mr. Cortes was born on June 20, 1928 in Utuado, PR the son of the late Eustaquis and Francisca Cortes.
Arriving in Lorain in the mid 1950's, he began his working career at Ford Motor Corp. He then worked at the former American Crucible Company until his retirement. Following his retirement, he owned and operated the Cortes Groceries.
He enjoyed being out of doors working in his yard and working his garden. He was a member of the International House of Praise Church.
Mr. Cortes is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ines (nee Ruiz) Cortes, sons Anibal Cortes, Jr., Enrique (Nereida) Cortes all of Lorain, grandchildren Manuel and Melinda Ramos, Ricardo Cortes, Candido Hernandez, several great grandchildren, seven brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Marilyn (Ramos) Cortes, brothers Ovidio Cortes, Guillermo Cortes, Moises Cortes, and Denny Cortes.
Friends may call on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Elder Luis Martinez, of the International House of Praise Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
