Ronald M. Jones, 68, Sports Enthusiast
Ronald M. Jones, 68, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Lorain passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Baptist Health Hospital in Louisville surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Jones was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on July 16, 1947, the son of the late Mitchell and Vestinia (nee Mason) Jones. He was a retired inspector with Ford Motor Corp with 32 years of service. His career with Ford began in 1969 in Lorain, he was then transferred to the Kentucky Plant in 1997.
He was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed golfing, fishing and gardening as well.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce M. (nee Degan) Jones, daughter Gina R. John) Giffin of St. Joe, MO, sons Rev. David L (Judy) Jones of Lorain, Ronald M. Jones II, of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Eren Bodkin, Nicholas Giffin, Charlie Giffin, sister Novella " Sue" (Alfred) Talhammer of Lorain, brothers, Zeral (Eva) Jones of Middlesboro, KY, Freddie Ray Jones of Amherst, Curtis (Regina) Jones of Berlin Heights, Donald (Dana) Jones of Amherst and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Alicia Jones in 1984, a grandson Jax Giffin, brothers, Virgil Jones, Harold Jones and sisters Joyce and Peggy Jones.
Friends may call on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00 am in the funeral home with his son, Rev. David L. Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
