Betty J. McIntyre, 84, Loyal Fan of Cleveland Professional Sports Teams

Photo of Betty J. McIntyre Betty J. McIntyre, (nee Demich), age 84, of Vermilion, passed away on the evening of Tuesday April 5th at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Lorain on June 13, 1931 and had been a resident of Vermilion since 1976; Betty had previously lived in Sheffield Lake.

A graduate of Clearview High School, she was a member of Peace Mennonite Church in Elyria. She was regarded as a loyal fan of all Cleveland professional sports teams, and especially, of the Cleveland Indians. Additional interests included flower gardening and embroidery.

She is survived by daughters Debra (Ronnie) Hein of New Castle, Wyoming and Dawn (John) Koviak of Elyria. She also leaves five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Additional survivors include brothers Stanley (Delores) Demich of Maryland and Michael Demich of Lorain, along with sisters Annie (Bill) Pasko of California, Helen Wilson of Amherst, Millie Georgeff of Columbus, Marty (Bill) Skura of California, Olga (Dan) Walski of Woodville, and Delores Laughlin of Wakeman.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Alfred in 2001, parents Stanley and Mary Demich, sister Sophie Toth, and brother John Demich.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of final reflection at 12:00 noon in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Graveside services will immediately follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Reverend Rick Young, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church presiding.
