John R. Gilles, 82, Enjoyed Hunting and Fishing

He was born in Lorain County on November 4, 1933 and had been a resident of Sheffield Township for most of his life.
A graduate of Clearview High School, John was employed as a machinist for the Milford Rivet Company of Elyria. His job took him to California for several years, only to have him return to Sheffield Township to care for his mother.
In his free time Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, archery, and frequent casino trips. He became a life-long friend of John E. Opalenik and he quickly became considered a part of the Opalenik Family.
He is survived by his brother Robert of California. Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Irene Gilles.
Visitation will be Thursday April 7th from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Graveside services will take place Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
