Donald D. Miller, 84, U.S. Army Veteran

Mr. Miller was born in Lorain on March 9, 1932, a son of the late Robert E. and Nora Belle (nee Robbins) Miller. He was a graduate of Lorain High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War obtaining the rank of Corporeal. He also earned the Korean Service Medal with One Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal and the Over Seas Bar.
He worked as a senior accountant at Bendix Corp in Elyria for 18 years. Then he became affiliated with Franklin Life as an investment counselor for 35 plus years.
Mr. Miller is a life member of VFW Post 1079 in Elyria, life member of the American Legion Post 118 in Amherst, Moose Lodge # 522, and F & AM Masonic Lodge Black River Lodge # 786 where he earned the 32 degree.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Phyllis M. (nee Martin) Miller, sons Jeffrey (Polli) Miller of Litchfield, Todd (Mindy) Miller of Lorain; Joel Miller of Amherst, 9 grandchildren, step daughter, Kimberly (Boyd McAllister) Miller, step sons Michael Miller, Kevin (Maria) Miller, all of Lorain, one brother Larry Miller also of Lorain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Miller and a step son Gregory Miller.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain,
There will be no visitation and burial is private in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
