Evelyn Anna Paffumi, 90, Enjoyed Listening to Music and Solving Crossword Puzzles

Evelyn was born on June 14, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Frank and Francis Krukowski. She grew up in Sheffield Lake under the care of Margaret and Jack Ferner, graduating from Brookside HS in 1943. She married Ernest Paffumi in Lorain in 1948; they raised their family in the neighborhood of Nativity BVM Catholic Church where Evelyn remained a parishioner until 2007 when she moved to Leeds, AL, to be with her children and grandchildren.
Evelyn enjoyed listening to music, solving crossword puzzles, and being a homemaker. Every year, on her birthday, she proudly reminded everyone that she was born on Flag Day and often shared folk sayings remembered from her childhood; she was also quick to sing a few lines from an old song that would come to mind.
Evelyn will be greatly missed by her son Ernie (Kathy) Paffumi, and daughter, Marianne Paffumi (Leeds, AL). She also leaves eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Ernest Paffumi (1977), sister, Tillie Giasomo (2015), and brothers Ted Krukowski (1971), and Frank Krukowski (2013).
The family will receive friends in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain, on Saturday, April 9th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Robert Glepko, Pastor of Nativity BVM Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be observed back in the funeral chapel immediately following the cemetery service.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Life Center Building Fund at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
