Ireta Mildred Cusumano, 88, Loved Being a Homemaker

Mrs. Cusumano was born in Pennfield on August 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Stanley and Thalia (nee Deveraux ) Sooy. She was a graduate of the Class of 1945 at Pennfield High School and the Oberlin School of Commerce in 1946.
She was a member of the Pennfield High School Class of 1945 Alumni and served as secretary for five years.
Mrs. Cusumano loved being a homemaker. She was an avid gardener who loved to watch and feed the birds. She had a nurturing heart towards both gardens and people she knew.
Mrs. Cusumano is survived by daughters Joy (James) Sheets of Connelly's Springs, NC, Nita (Daniel) Brennen of Lorain, sons Samuel J, (Linda) Cusumano of Orlando, FL, Ted A. (Cindy) Cusumano of Tyler, TX, Jon A. (Cheryl) Cusumano of Lorain, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sisters Wilma Perry of Hopewell, VA, Lorna (Bill) Patt of Massillon, and a brother Russell (Laura) Sooy of Wellington.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Cusumano on Dec. 18, 2006, brother Arthur Sooy and a sister Arlene Lampe.
Friends may call on Monday, March 14, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
