Olga Villarreal, 65, Lorain City Schools Teacher

Olga was born on December 21, 1950 in Lorain. She graduated from Admiral King High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree from Marygrove College.
Olga taught for Lorain City Schools at Hawthorne Boone Elementary and Palm Elementary School, where her smart, funny manner made a big impression on the students and of course her fellow faculty, many of whom were her good friends.
She is survived by her mother, Estella Villarreal (née Amador) of Lorain, big brother Jess Villarreal (Joan) of Elyria, nieces Jennifer Villarreal (Stephen Dove), Deitri Villarreal, Megan Villarreal (Scott Jump), nephew Joshua Perry, her beloved grand-nephews Quinn Villarreal, Logan Dove-Villarreal and Tyson Villarreal Jump (her boys) and best friend, Linda Harsar.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gaspar Villarreal.
Olga was a member of St. Anthony’s Church. She was a devoted Elvis, movie and sports fan, and back in the day she was a spirited member of softball, darts and bowling teams. She enjoyed the pleasures in life, including going out to eat, music and winning trivia games, and she especially loved turning everything into a song.
Her family will receive friends Sunday, March 6 from 2 to 6 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain (440) 277-8164. Closing prayers will be Monday at 9:15 in the funeral home, then her funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father Edward J. Smith, Pastor will officiate.
There will be no one else like Miss Olga Villarreal, and she will be dearly missed.
The family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org in Olga’s memory.
