Joan E. Bentley, 84, Loved Her Cats
Joan E. Bentley, 84, (nee Horn), passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.Mrs. Bentley was born in Lorain on June 1, 1931, the daughter of the late Arthur Horn and Lottie E. (Arthur) Haueter (nee Neiding). She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a graduate of Lorain High School in the Class of 1949-B and was a member of the National Honor Society. She also graduated from the Oberlin School of Commerce.
She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain.
Mrs. Bentley worked as a book keeper at White Ready Mix Concrete in North Ridgeville. Following more than 20 years service, she retired in 1995.
She loved her cats.
Mrs. Bentley is survived by her daughter Dianne L. (Glenn) Mittler of Elyria, her grandchildren, Stephen Burk, Laurie Mittler, a brother Clyde A. Horn of Chesterland, and beloved nieces Deborah (David Short) Horn and Jennifer (Wayne) Holshuer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son John A. Bentley, II in 1988.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park Amherst Township.
