Janice Walker, 64, Loved Spending Time With Grandchildren

Mrs. Walker was born in Lorain on September 28, 1951, a daughter of Mallie (nee Hall) Smith of Avon Lake and Elmer Hall of Lorain. She was a graduate of Brookside High School, class of 1969 and Lorain Business College, earning a degree in business management.
She retired as a manager in 2013 after 18 years of service from the Hallrich Corp. (Pizza Hut) headquartered in Kent, OH. She was an Auxiliary member of the Amvets Post 47 in Lorain and American Legion 211 in Avon Lake.
Mrs. Walker loved the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends. She was an avid Cleveland Brown’s fan and collected many Browns mementos over the years.
She is survived by her daughters, Jaycee Hall of Cleveland, Peggy Fate of Lorain; grandchildren, Victor Ortiz, Manny Fate, Bobby Hall, Sergio Montanez, Willie Montanez, Kiara Ross, Shy Smith, T. J. Kalande, and Angelina Fate; great grandchildren Isabella Ortiz and Celina Fate; stepdaughters, Ursula Walker-Wilkes of SC; Danicka (Walker) Ransom of FL; stepsons Kenny Walker of TN, Tommie Walker Jr. of TN, Anthony Geiger of OH; Donta Walker of FL; a sister and her best friend Shirlie (Hall) Garcia of OH; and a brother, Jack Hall of OH along with many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to her husband the late Tommie Walker, she was also preceded in death by sisters Kathleen (Hall) Maldonado, Marilyn (Hall) Torres; and stepfather Robert Smith.
Friends may call on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 with Rev. Freddie Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
