Malvine E. Katerba, 92, Avid Bowler and Golfer

She was born July 8, 1923 in Lorain and graduated from Lorain High School with the 1942 B class. She worked at Kroger as a meat wrapper for 15 years retiring in 1983.
Mal was a past member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She was currently a member of St. Peter Parish.
Mal was an avid bowler and golfer and played in several leagues. She was a member of the former Polish American Citizens Club.
She is survived by her children: Mark Katerba of Port St Lucie, Florida, Greg Katerba of Hideway, Texas, Karen Leifheit (Wilbur) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Lisa Griffith (George) of Roswell, Georgia; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter S. Katerba in 1980, father Benjamin Anuskiewicz, mother Anastazia Anuskiewicz-Galazin (nee Maijlowski), stepfather Frank Galazin; brothers Edward, Richard, Karl & Norbert Anuskiewicz and stepsisters Helen Kotas, Ann Lis and Jean Rodal.
The family will receive friends Saturday January 30th from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. John Retar, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
