Rose M. Snider, 79, Devoted to her Grandchildren

Rose M. Snider, (nee Landreth), age 79, passed away on Thursday January 14, 2016 while a resident of the Woods on French Creek.

She was born in Lorain on May 10, 1936 and had been a life-long resident of Lorain County.

Rose was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moose Lodge # 552 of Lorain.

Her free time was devoted to her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Richard (Karen) of Mentor, and by daughters Deborah Courtney (Gene) of Louisville, Kentucky, Joanne Jones and Jennifer Lee both of Vermilion, Cheryl Murphy (Richard) of Columbia Station, Dianna Snider and Betty Lesner (Scott) both of Lorain, and Bonnie Snider residing in Brunswick. She also leaves seventeen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Additional survivors include brothers Virgil of Georgetown, Texas, Patrick of San Diego, California, and sister Linda Coursey of Lorain.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 1999, her son James P. “Spider” Snider in 2010, her parents Virgil and Pearl (nee. Hamm) Landreth, brothers Billy, Conley, and Harold along with sisters Pearl Rundell, Rhoda Gang, Nelia Daun, Frances Phillips, Shirley Thompson, and Dolly Cribbs.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
