William D. Marcucci, 84, Enjoyed gardening, bowling and golf

Photo of William D. Marcucci William D. Marcucci, age 84, of Elyria Township, passed away peacefully at his residence on the Thursday January 7th, 2016. Bill was born in Lorain on April 15, 1931. He had been a resident of Elyria Township since 1966.

Mr. Marcucci was employed as a Euclid and dump truck driver for the Lake Terminal Railroad Company. He retired in 1991 following forty-two years of service with the railroad.

A parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bill enjoyed gardening, bowling and golf. Additional interests included travel to South Carolina, Massachusetts, and New York.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years Audrey (nee Somogyi), children Curtis (Kathy), of South Amherst, Douglas (Suzie) of Amherst, Kevin (Lisa) of Lorain, and Kim Canterbury residing in Apache Junction, Arizona. He also leaves grandchildren Suzanne Robinett, John Canterbury, Erick and Kaylee Marcucci, Michael and Dru Marcucci, and Dario and Camryn Marcucci. Additional survivors include great grandchildren Alex, Emma, and Isabel-Sophia Robinett, and Laveah Canterbury, as well as his siblings Delores Suyeta of South Amherst, Tony (Arlene) and Carl Travee (Roberta) both of Lorain, and Peri (Pat) of Amherst.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Perino and Rosina (nee DeGiandominico) Marcucci, sister Viola Giancaterino, sister-in-law Margaret Carrier, and brother-in-law Dan Suyeta.

Visitation will be today (Friday) from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church – 41295 North Ridge Road with Reverend Donald Dunson as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
