Mary Jo Horton, 60, Enjoyed golfing, traveling and cooking

Mary Jo Horton, age 60 of Lorain, died Tuesday June 2, 2015 at Cleveland Clinic Hospital as a result of complications from leukemia.

She was born May 31, 1955 in Lorain, and remained a lifelong area resident.

Mary Jo worked in accounting and office operations during her career, the last 3 years for Douglass and Associates in Cleveland.

She was a parishioner of the Church of St. Peter, and enjoyed golfing, traveling, bowling, sewing, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her mother Jo Horton of Lorain, whom she lovingly cared for the past 20 years, sister Judy (Bill) Kellner of Avon Lake, sister-in-law Sandy Horton of Tucson, AZ, nieces Denise Coronado, Abby and Betsy Wightman, nephew Scott Horton, and many “cousin” friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Leo Horton in 1996, and her brother David Horton in 2013.

Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday June 8, 2015 beginning with prayers at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by Mass at 11:00 AM in the Church of St. Peter. Fr. Craig Hovanec will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are encouraged to the Salvation Army.
