Ruth A. Wood, 67, Was an accomplished cook as well as an avid fan of many professional sports teams

She was born in Lorain on February 28, 1948 and remained a life-long resident of the city.
Ruth was an accomplished cook as well as an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns professional sports teams. In her free time she also enjoyed league bowling.
She is survived by daughters Carol L. Johnson (Mike) of Hoover, Alabama, Tracy M. Michles (Tom) of Fremont, Ohio, and Diane Wood of Lorain, along with her son Paul R. Barker residing in Burlington, North Carolina. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, brothers Thomas, Mike, Everett, and Dennis, along with sisters Mary Lou Morrow, Janet Morrow, Shirley Easterday, Nancy Gigliotti, Joan Bell, Carol Klekota, and Linda Morrow.
She was preceded in death by her father George, by her mother Glenndora Downs (nee Palmer), and by her brother Gary Barker.
Friends may call Monday from 7 until 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
