Edward J. Horton, 85, Enjoyed camping, photography, woodworking, and was a complete handyman

Edward J. Horton, age 85 of Wakeman, formerly of Lorain, died Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 22, 1929 in Lorain, remained a resident until moving to Wakeman in 2004.

Edward worked as the parts manager for Llewellyn Pontiac for 45 years, then for Joyce Buick Pontiac for 5 years until retirement in 1994.

He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Lorain, and currently is a member of Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin.

He was very active in St. Joseph Church belonging to the Holy Name Society and working as custodian. He enjoyed camping, photography, woodworking, and was a complete handyman. He was very devoted to his wife Bea, and enjoyed family vacations, especially to Disney World and Hilton Head.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beatrice (nee Resek), children Nancy (William) Kuhar of Wakeman, Larry (Melanie) Horton of Wakeman, Ellen and Kathleen Horton of Lorain, and Christine (Gary) Lechuk of Lorain, grandchildren Christopher (Gayle) Kuhar, and Sara (Paul) Kuhar, and great-grandchildren Sophia and Jonah Kuhar.

He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Horton in 1990, a sister Marie Fye, a brother Leo Horton, and parents Leo and Sarah Horton.

Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be Saturday beginning with prayers at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home followed by 10:00 AM Mass at St. Mary Church, Lorain. Fr. Daniel Divis will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
