Jesse V. Neri, 88, Delivered the Morning Journal for 25 Years
Jesse V. Neri, Sr. age 88, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 23rd, 2015 at the Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph. Jesse was born in Galion, Ohio on July 4, 1927 and had been a resident of Lorain since the age of fourteen.
He had been employed as a production assistant by the Encoat Corporation retiring in 1992 following thirty-five years of service. Mr. Neri had also delivered the Morning Journal for twenty-five years.
Survivors include his children James Neri (Mariaelana), David Neri, Jesse V. Neri, Jr. (Mary), Daun Whittaker (William) Ed DiBernardo, and Samantha Rojas (Michael). He also leaves thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and sisters Angela Alvarez Liscano, and Margaret Alvarez Liscano.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (nee Hinerman) in 1998, son Charles Joseph Neri, father Joseph Neri, mother Dominga Liscano Negrete, and brothers Tony Neri and Eduardo Alvarez Liscano.
Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Private graveside services will be conducted in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
