Louis R. Croushore, 94, World War II U.S. Army Veteran

Lou was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran fulfilling duty assignments as a Staff Sergeant attached to 104th Infantry; he was the recipient of the American Theater Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Mullen-Murray Post # 451 of the VFW and had served as the post’s Quartermaster for more than a decade.
Mr. Croushore was employed as a repairman for United Technologies Elliott retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Lorain Lighthouse United Methodist Church.
Lou is survived by his wife of thirty-five years Marie (nee Abner), by his daughter Sharon Mahilo of Lorain, and by sons Louis Skip Croushore (Diane) of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, and Nick Croushore residing in Brookside, Delaware. He also leaves his step-son Larry Shepherd of Lorain four grandchildren, one step grandson, sixteen great grandchildren, and his sister Minnie Poole residing in Greensburg.
Mr. Croushore was preceded in death by his parents James and Theresa (nee Rushman) Croushore, by sisters Margaret Croushore, Alice Kealey, Marcella Gray, and Dorothy Sarver, by brothers James Edwin Croushore and Nicholas Croushore, and by his granddaughter Janie Shepherd.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend Greg Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township where military honors will be conducted by the Lorain Honor Guard.
