Denise A. Serrano, 64, Loved Cooking and Preparing Family Meals

Mrs. Serrano was born in Amherst on July 18, 1951, the daughter of the late Alvin C. and Rose M (nee Kinter) Hellinger. A lifelong resident of this area, she graduated from Lorain High School in 1970 and the Northern Ohio Institute of Cosmetology in 1999.
She dedicated her life's work to being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She loved cooking, and preparing family meals, listening to R & B music, dancing, camping, making crafts, and fishing. She was especially fond of her rescued pets Lola, Sohpie and the late Mikey.
Mrs. Serrano is survived by her husband of 20 years, Tomas Serrano, children Jason L. (Jennifer) Butler of Lorain, daughter Hope M. (Nick) Watthanaphand of North Royalton, Joshua A Butler of Lorain, sister Valerie L. Woods of Lorain, a brother, Alvin D. (Patricia) Hellinger of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
A devoted and loving grandmother, Denny was most happy when she was surround by her grandchildren. She cherished and adored each of them; Tyler, Alyssa, Chandler, Jaden, MaKenna, Olyvia, and Sunee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Ward, nephew William "Rusty" Ward and a brother-in-law Chris A Woods.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until funerals services at 4:00 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Burial will be private.
