Dorothy A. Bolcis, 88, Enjoyed Reading, Sewing & Traveling

Photo of Dorothy A. Bolcis Dorothy A. Bolcis (nee Bobby), 88, of Lorain, died Thursday October 22, 2015 at her home while under the care of Mercy New Life Hospice of Lorain.

She was born August 18, 1927 in Wolf Run, Ohio and had resided in Lorain since 1950 moving from Cleveland.

Dorothy worked at Society Bank as a Key Punch Operator for 10 years, and Bendix in Elyria and at BancSystems in Westlake.

She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years, served on the Altar Guild, and was a member of Circle 3. She enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling. She was a member of AARP #3318.

She is survived by her son Duane Bolcis of Lorain and brothers John Bobby of Parma and Dan Bobby of Seven Hills. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Bolcis in 2006, parents Stephen and Susan Bobby (nee Kontra), brothers George, Edward, & Steve Bobby and sisters Julia Bobby, Eleanor Vargo, Pauline Vician and Ann Shimek.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 PM at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain and on Monday from 10:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4501 Clinton Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Laurie Miller, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund.
