Wendell Moffette, 73, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Wendell Moffette Wendell Moffette, 73 of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in his home following a courageous battle from the effects of Agent Orange exposure.

He was born November 28, 1941 in Robbins, Tennessee. He had been a Lorain resident since he was 9. He worked for Robinson Pipe and retired from MPW Industries, Lorain.

Wendell was a Vietnam War Veteran proudly serving his country in the Army. He was a member of the V. F. W. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and Cleveland sports teams.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Cheryl Moffette (née Tucker) of Lorain; his children Kenneth Wendell (Michelle) Moffette, Terina M. (James) Harris (néeTucker),Wendy M. (Scott) Stevenson, John Jerrell (Vicki) and Teddy (Jennifer) Hicks; sisters Ina Rose Moffette and Lois Henes; brother Wayne Moffette; mother-in–law Phyllis Y. Tucker; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandsons; many nieces and nephews. He also will be missed and love by his in-laws, extended family and friends.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Mertie (née Lackey) Moffette and father-in-law James F. Tucker.

His family will receive friends Friday, October 9 from 10 until time of his funeral service at 11 AM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Pastor Ervin Jones of Fuller Road Community Church, Elyria will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. The Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20, Lorain will conduct Military Honors.
