Stanley E. Malinowsky, 89, U.S. Navy Veteran

He was born October 26, 1925 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Stan graduated from Lorain High School and worked at National Tube Company in Lorain until serving with the US Navy during World War II. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and World War II Victory Medal. After the war, he returned to work at National Tube but left again to serve with the US Navy during the Korean War.
Stan worked at BF Goodrich in Avon Lake in the maintenance department retiring in 1985. He also worked for the city of Lorain Police Auxiliary.
Stan was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Lorain and a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain. He was active in bowling in Lorain and served as secretary of several area leagues. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and did some catering events.
He is survived by his sons Robert Malinowsky and Stanley M. Malinowsky, both of Lorain, grandchildren Kristie Denney, Michael (Holly), Matt, Kelly and Jessica Malinowsky, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and brothers Joe and Peter Malinowski. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Mary Ann Malinowsky (nee Hoholski) in 2005, son Daniel A. Malinowsky in 2014, parents Joseph & Mary Malinowski (nee Bokomasha), 1 great great grandchild and sisters Katherine Zeman, Josephine Aniskevich, and Sophie Bizup and Mae Jessel.
The family will receive friends Friday 1-3, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 2143 Homewood Dr, Lorain. The Rev. John Retar, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
