Jean K. McKitrick, 83, Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother
Jean K. McKitrick, 83, (nee Binder) of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. McKitrick was born in Lorain on February 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Gus and Mildred L ( nee Nuhn) Binder. A lifelong resident of Lorain, she graduated from Lorain High School in the Class of 1949-B and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain.
She had been employed at the former Reidy Scanlan Furniture Store, Old English Parlour, and Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Parlor. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, enjoying nothing better than spending time with her family. She was known as a bright and gregarious lady, with a recognizable smile and a unmatched wit.
Mrs. McKitrick is survived by daughters Paula J. (the late Roy) Dickason, Molly J. (Jack Kirchner) Kirchner all of of Lorain, grandchildren: Ryan P. Dickason, James R. Dickason, Molly-Jaye M. (Pat Ditzler) Kirchner, Britt O. (Alexandra Thomas) Dickason, Casey J. (Carla) Kirchner, Mackenzie S. (Marcy Dingo Lukesic) Dickason, Brady S. (Krystle) Dickason, Murphy P. Dickason and her very special, new great grandson Bradyn Dickason, sister Wilma Paghi of Lorain, nieces Jayne Gleisner and Lisa Gleisner of Willard, very close friends Cindy Rader, Donna Mize and many more nieces, nephews and relatives that loved her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Paul R. "Mac" McKitrick on September 21, 2009, her son in law Roy Dickason on Feb. 19, 2012 and her sister Joan Gleisner on Apr 9, 2005.
A Celebration of Jean McKitrick's Life will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. at On The Avenue, 5300 Oberlin Ave. Lorain providing light refreshments and time of sharing memories with the family.
Burial was private in Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain assisted the family with the arrangements.
