Antoinette Buchte, 93, Wonderful Cook and Homemaker

Photo of Antoinette Buchte Antoinette “Ann” Buchte, (nee Motto), age 93, of Sheffield Township, passed away on the morning of Tuesday August 18, 2015 while a patient at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Barnsboro, Pennsylvania on August 5, 1922 and was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School. Mrs. Buchte had been a resident of Sheffield Township for more than six decades.

A parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Ann was a wonderful cook and homemaker whose main vocation was taking care of her family and friends.

She is survived by sons John D. Buchte and his wife Pamela (nee Tedesco) residing in Gahanna, Ohio along with Thomas A. Buchte and his wife Jennie (nee Tanski) of Vermilion. She also leaves her “adopted daughter” Jeannie Rose (nee DeCarlo) of Sheffield Township, her niece Michelle Carl (nee Scandale) and nephew Michael Scandale both residing in Washington, Pennsylvania. Additional survivors include sisters-in-law Jennie Buchte and Cecilia Jeffers both of Houston, Pennsylvania, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Albert G. Buchte, brothers Fred and John Motto, and sister Delores “Dod” Scandale.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend Donald Dunson officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
