Patricia A. Butcher, 73, Enjoyed Spending Time with Family and Friends

Photo of Patricia A. Butcher Patricia A. Butcher (nee Kovacs), 73, of Lorain, died Friday August 7, 2015 at Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

She was born July 1, 1942 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1960.

Pat worked at Moen in Elyria as a machine operator and quality control inspector retiring in 1997 after 38 years.

She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association where she held numerous offices including president and vice president and was named Woman-of-the-Year in 1986. Along with her husband Don, she co-founded the Northern Ohio Industrial Bowling Tournament held for many years at Rebman Recreation in Lorain. She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons David Butcher of Worthington and Tim Butcher (Kristen) of Brandon, Mississippi, grandchildren Jeffrey, Samantha, Chad and Zackary Butcher and brother Dave Kovacs of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband Don W. Butcher on May 5, 2015 and parents Julius & Helen Kovacs (nee Brehm).

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
