Julia Mariotto-Kubasak, 93, Enjoyed Volunteer Work
Julia Gerry Mariotto-Kubasak (nee Nardini), 93, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Friday August 7, 2015 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake while under the care of Sprenger Hospice Services.She was preceded in death by her first husband John G. Mariotto on October 16, 1970. John was in partnership with Julia’s brother, Frank J Nardini, at Associated Builders Supply and Equipment Company and Lorain Trucking. She was also preceded in death by her second husband Rudolph A. Kubasak on November 3, 2005. Rudolph was in partnership with his brother Victor at National Pharmacy.
Julia was the daughter of Anthony and Elvira Nardini (nee Marucci), sister to Frank J. Nardini and Lela Nardini Dawyskiba. She leaves two daughters: Victoria (Joseph) Radican and Christine (James) Koba, stepsons Rudolph G. (Judy) Kubasak, Robert (Debbie) Kubasak and Richard (Kathy) Kubasak and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Julia enjoyed her volunteer work at St. Joseph and Lorain Community Hospitals, belonging to the Women’s Guild of St. Peter Parish in Lorain, Women’s Auxiliary of the Italian-American Veterans Post #1 and Lakeland Women’s Club. She was one of the initial founders of the 40-B Mothers’ Club that evolved from the 1940 graduating class of Lorain High School.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11:00 am at St. Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
