Phyllis L. Cullen-Marquez , 71, Enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren

She was born July 2, 1944 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Phyllis graduated from Admiral King High School in 1962. She retired from the Lorain County Clerk of Courts office and had also worked for the city of Lorain in the Auditor’s Office and Mayor’s Office as well as for Sherrod Brown’s office as a field rep when he was Ohio Secretary of State. She was currently working at Cindy’s Sew Easy in Sheffield.
Phyllis was active with the Admiral King High School and Lorain High School Band Boosters and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain.
She is survived by her children Candace Chesnick (Jon), Kenneth J. Cullen and Kevin J. Cullen (Maria), all of Lorain, grandchildren Sammantha Cullen, Jacob Chesnick, Holly Chesnick, Noelle Chesnick, Jerry Cullen, Demitri Cullen and George Cullen, great grandchildren Khloe Rivera and Jamie Rivera Jr and sisters Jacqueline Urban (Nick) of Lorain and Cynthia Zocchi (Craig Harding) of Ashland. She was preceded in death by her first husband Gerald J. Cullen in 1986, second husband William Marquez in 2007, parents Leo & Rosemary Zocchi and brother Donald Zocchi.
The family will receive friends Friday 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
