Theresa H. Stemkowski, 89, Loved bingo & watching the Cleveland Indians

She was born November 18, 1925 in Bellaire, Ohio and had resided in Lorain since 1949.
Theresa was a 45 year member of the American Legion #30 Ladies Auxiliary in Lorain and was presented with a lifetime membership for her many years of service as President, Secretary & Treasurer with the Ladies Auxiliary.
She was also a life member of VFW #451 Ladies Auxiliary in Lorain, a member of Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR), the Lorain Senior Center, the Church of St. Peter and the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lorain.
She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and watching the Cleveland Indians.
She is survived by her children Dr Paul Stemkowski (Karen) of Ashland, Kentucky, Linda Ann Pintur (Jonathan Jock) of Wellington and Michael Stemkowski (Mary) of Ostrander, grandchildren Laura Anne Burnham of
Sykesville, Maryland, Stashu Stemkowski (Crissy) of Mercer Island, Washington, Emily Nicole Stemkowski of
Seattle, Washington, Hillary Jean Stemkowski and Kevin Michael Kirk (Erin) all of Upper Arlington, Brittany Noland of Worthington, Skylar Noland of Columbus and Emily Ober of Ostrander and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Stanley S. Stemkowski in 2001, parents Adam and Aniela Boiarski (nee Wisniewski), brothers Joseph and Edward Boiarski, sister Josephine Spivla and an infant sister.
The family will receive friends Sunday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Perter, 3501 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
