Photo of Neil Parker Neil Parker, 75, of Lorain passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at his home following a short illness.
Mr. Parker was born on October 22, 1939 in South Amherst, the son of the late Franklin D. and Ilah P. (nee Neiland) Parker. He has lived in the Lorain-Sheffield Lake area all his life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Kitzingen, Germany. He was a devout family man enjoying every moment he was able to spend with his family.
He was a bus driver with Lorain County Transit retiring after 20 years of service in 2004. He also had worked at the J.J. Fishing Co., the Broadway Building, Johnson Furnace and the Ford Motor Plant.
Mr. Parker is survived by his daughters Michele L Tully of Revere, Mass., Roxane M Thomas, Brenda J Franklin, Kelly S Zsigray all of Lorain, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, sister Ruth Kneisel of Lorain and a brother Charles Parker of Sheffield Lake.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Treva M. (nee Morgan) Parker in 2011, brothers, Jack Parker, Grant Parker, Harold Parker , Dick Parker, Bill Parker, sisters, Georgia Beach, JoAnn Tuma, Rose Rym, and Lois Mercado.
Graveside services will be Monday, June 29, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the Resthaven Memory Garden in Avon with full military honors provided by the Lorain Honor Guard.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to he Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio handled the arrangements.
