Jean F. Potter, 83, Member of the Sweet Adeline's, the Amherst Choir at the Senior Citizens Choir

Photo of Jean F. Potter Jean F. Potter, 83, (nee Newton) of Lorain passed away Friday, June 20, 2015 at Mercy-New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain following a long illness.

Mrs. Potter was born in Elma, NY on February 1, 1932, the daughter of the late Burt and Effie (nee Miller) Newton. She worked as a barmaid and customer service representative for Cash-N-Go.

She loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adeline's, the Amherst Choir at the Senior Citizens Choir. She was a member of the St. Lad's Club. She loved going to casino's, dancing, fishing, playing Friday Night Cards and gardening. She was very proud of her American Indian heritage.

Mrs. Potter is survived by her son Daniel (Annette) Booth of Lorain, 4 granddaughters, one grandson, 2 step-grandsons, and 6 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Potter in 1994, daughters Linda Weinner in 2008 and Debra in 1975 and two sisters.

Friends may call on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain followed at 8 p.m. with a Celebration of Her Life.

Burial will be private.
