Marilyn J. Fligner, 72, Co-Owner of Fligner's Market

She was born January 15, 1943 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain for the past 48 years.
Marilyn graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended the Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor Degree in Education.
Marilyn taught for two years at Lorain High School. She co-owned and operated Fligner’s Market in Lorain with her husband Kel.
She was a member of the Temple B'nai Abraham in Elyria and a past member of Agudath Bnai Israel Synagogue in Lorain.
Marilyn was a sports fanatic who followed the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland sport teams. She enjoyed painting pictures and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Kelman Fligner, sons Benjamin Fligner (Stephanie) of Avon and Jonathan Fligner (Elizabeth) of Dublin, OH, grandchildren Zachary, Gavin, Christina and Amanda Fligner and sister Sue Peters (Tom) of Cape Cod. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard and Harriet Mandle (nee Feldman).
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Rabbi Lauren Werber of Temple B’nai Abraham will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Sheffield Township.
